The Alpe di Siusi

A piece of paradise in the Dolomites

It’s even more beautiful in real life: No home movie, no postcard and certainly no Instagram filter does justice to the Alpe di Siusi. Europe’s largest upland alpine landscape is a true natural beauty. And a cultural region that exists only once in the world. A whole 56 square kilometres in size and surmounted by the peaks of the Sciliar and the Sassolungo. The high plateau has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009 and this landscape has always been considered a peaceful haven. A place where the soul can catch its breath.

Mountains. Landscape. Culture.

The history of the high plateau of the Alpe di Siusi is closely linked to that of the people. Before the first farmers settled here in the High Middle Ages, the Alpe di Siusi was covered with dense forests of spruce. These were cleared around 800 years ago to provide pasture for the cattle. Several centuries were to pass before the first “summer visitors” and “city dwellers” discovered the Dolomites as a place of recreation. You can still sense the rural heritage and the traditional history of this region. We are so fortunate to be able to share our home, the Alpe di Siusi, with you. Look forward to 365 days full of wonder. The magic of the seasons. And a panoramic 360-degree view of the Dolomites that you won’t forget in a hurry.
